Rochester, NY | The evolution and the NEW ERA era of Ridgemont Country Club
The western New York area has seen tremendous growth beginning in the 1900’s, with the industrial revolution and the need for manufacturing facilities. Ridgemont CC was founded in 1928, in the same time frame that the Eastman Kodak company, and its manufacturing based operation, exploded in growth, to nearly 70,000 employees.
A group of visionary real estate developers established our golf course, to primarily serve the needs of Kodak managers and employees, since the club’s location was virtually surrounded by the huge growth of Kodak’s operations. We became an icon within the area, as the sole private golf country club attraction in northwest Rochester.
Technology advancements unfortunately led to the significant downsizing of Kodak jobs and the economy of the area. Ultimately RCC was also faced with tremendous pressures to retain its membership security, since so many members
